Here’s a letter size proof sample printed on matte photo paper using my Canon Pro-100 printer. Even in a smaller size, the water color wreath really pops against the chalkboard-style background.
Another chalkboard style wedding sign in the shop…
I’m also busy working on some real water color textures and seamless pattern tiles. I’ll keep you posted with my progress.
After scanning the painted water color shapes at 600 ppi, I cleaned one up in Photoshop and tested on a yellow background. Selected an area 1000 pixels x 1000 pixels from the texture and used the offset filter. That results in a pattern with lines running through it. No good! Time to go carefully over those areas using the stamp tool. Finally arriving at a seamless tile pattern.
One use for a seam tile is to apply it to typography. I applied it to a font with a handwritten feel called Manhattan Darling.
The water color is one project keeping me from my website duties. That and moving in January. Selling the home in town and packing up after remodeling the “new” home has been challenging but totally worth it. We remodeled a home from the 70’s. It sits on 2 acres and backs up to the incredible Sonoran Desert wilderness We love the beauty all around us and have great neighbors!

What have you been up to lately? What do you think of my current projects?
